Snow and more Birthday Wishes!

What happened to Spring and all the daffodils said Zoe and Jackie!?!

The red bud tree covered in snow looks very beautiful.

I want to wish Sherri a Happy Birthday and tell you a little about her. We have known each other since 7Th grade at Dewey Jr. High School, Dewey, Oklahoma. We have stayed friends all that time and I am so glad that Sherri moved back to Oklahoma a few years ago to be near her parents from Minneapolis, MN. We have shared more fun and more laughs since she came back to town than we ever did as kids and it is so wonderful to have her to share things with. She has always been one to keep us motivated even in school and in touch with the other classmates. If she doesn't hear from you for awhile she jingles the phone and wants to know how you are. She is a bright spot on a dreary day and I love her for that.

Happy Birthday Brother!

My brother lives in Houston and we don't see each other all the time, he is older than me by a lot

Yesterday's morning news

Yesterday morning as I was eating my breakfast and watching the local Tulsa Fox news station

they feature a Wednesday weekly pet adoption segment.

Me & Phoebe

This particular morning they had 2 dogs on, one Sheppard mix and the other one was this little

Jack Russell who is 6 years old

and it's owner had raised it from a puppy. They said she knew tricks, was potty trained, and

was really sweet.

Her owner was a gentleman who was forced to give his dog away because of circumstances

beyond his control they said, and he was very grieved by this event.

The poor little thing just sat on the volunteer's lap and was quite the little well behaved lady. I

thought to

myself, she is so cute and that is such a sad of a story.

I can not imagine what that would feel like, and my heart went out to both the master and the dog.

The next thing I know I told my husband about it and he said you wanna go look?

(Total shocker)

I said no

we can't because the movers are coming at 2

and the shelter is only open from 12 to 4 every day and it is 45 minutes away.

Well, it was not much after that the movers called and said they had gotten done early, can we

come on now to help you move your furniture to the basement?

WOW!

so we decided to go take a look and see what the Jack Russell was like for ourselves that

afternoon after we

grabbed a bite of lunch.

Then we got to the shelter and there she was waiting to meet us after being on the television!

her name is Jackie, probably because she is a Jack Russell

my mom said, only like my mom can say, that dog is OLD!

she has no life,

it won't be around long enough and Karen will cry.

Okay, they all hate to see me cry......

I guess I am famous for that trait.....

they assured us she was only 6 years old and had only had one owner her whole life.....

well here she is......

among the daffodils

and she is full of life and fitting right into the groove at our house.

She is everything they said she was

except......one thing

they didn't tell us......

we have to work on the

I HATE CATS

part of her personality....

poor Phoebe

it's gonna be a long row to hoe

ABBY LANE

This is our friends kitten, Abby Lane. Above is her baby picture, with long hair, then something happened and where did all the hair go?
Bill says Beth brushed all her hair off! :)

My mom getting a hug from Abby Lane when we stopped in the other evening
........my mom is a little worried!?!

This cat is just now about 6 months old and she is a character if I ever saw one.

She was thrown out of a car on the highway when she was so tiny.....our friends the Mocks found her and then Beth and Larry came by.....and guess what?

They took her home with them and they are glad they did! She is so cute!
ABBY RULES THE ROOST AND JUST ASK HER!
she is the cutiest little thing ever and she has given her parents a reason to stay home!

Oh my gosh, how sweet!

Gillie before she left Oklahoma
and below her meeting with The Gillespie's!
She loved them from the start just like we did! They are the nicest couple you would ever want to meet, and their children are adorable!
Cowboy has been taking Gillie to work with him every day so I would say she is a happy camper!

After we met TrainWreck and her Cowboy, Train Wreck gave me a box.
In it was an amazing assortment of gifts.
She is so sweet and thoughtful and she is such an amazing person and she is such a talented and giving woman.
She made this adorable personal frame just for me with pictures I had posted on my blog.
It is the cutiest thing I have ever saw! It is on a scrapbooking theme and I love it!
I don't know how she finds the time to accomplish all she does!
Then there was that adorable bucket with kisses in it, a reed infuser with the most wonderful vanilla scent, Chocolates in the heart box, the little book of inspiration, the cowgirl paperweight made by TrainWreck, and the oh so adorable pendant TrainWreck made also.
This barb wire candle holder...........so cute

and a selection of her prints. They are wonderful and I am going to mat and frame them!
They will remind me of her always!
I am never going to forget her kindness.
I wish she lived next door to me, we would have so much in common and have a great time!
Maybe one day they will want better grass and come be our neighbors!
Okay it could happen! :)
and Gillie is my granddog so it would be closer!

THE JOURNEY OF FRIENDSHIP

We loaded the Denali for our weekend trip to Amarillo, Texas, we were on a mission along with our good friends the Mocks. We had a special delivery to make and we were meeting half way more or less to make the drop off.

Along the way we stopped in El Reno, Oklahoma on Route 66 for an early lunch at world famous Sid's Diner.

The food and hamburgers are really good and worth the stop!

Here are Bill, Carolyn and K. T. outside of Sid's Diner there in El Reno, Oklahoma

They serve breakfast there too if you are by early.

Here we are looking at all the memorabilia at Sid's and enjoying the company of each other.

The owner came and visited with us, he was a really nice man and told us he named

it in honor of his Daddy.

We got back in the car to head on down the road with our precious cargo.

are you wondering what we are delivering yet?

It is Gillie!

She is the best traveler that I have ever saw! She caused no problems and was just happy to be with us going on a big adventure.

So we are in Texas now and almost to Amarillo

......the wind is blowing and stirring all the dust south of us for miles

Amarillo and the panhandle are notorious for that.

We got to Amarillo by 3PM and checked into the motel. I got in touch with Gillie's

soon to be new family.

It is hard to give up such a sweet face as this!

Bill playing with her in our room.

I think at times Bill and I wanted to grab her and bolt out of there and take her back home....

Ross and Carolyn are the sensible ones of the 4..........

okay, so we have soft hearts and get attached but that is a good trait right?

We know Gillie is going to be happier with a family of kids, dogs and cats to play with instead of old people!

Funny how logic has nothing to do with the heart!

This little girl captured my heart in the month she has been around, but that wasn't hard .

She is one of the cutiest and smartest dogs I have been around at such a young age. She does something once and she has it down.

Here Gillie and I are waiting in anticipation to meet her new mommy and daddy!

I think I hear someone knocking on the door Gillie!

Are you ready to meet your new family?

I think I am......

It is none other than Train Wreck and her Cowboy all the way from Arizona to adopt Gillie!

Now you have figured out why she was named Gillie awhile back!

The Gillespies are her new family!

I am going to miss my little sweetie pie, but I know she is going to have a great home with a great set of family and friends to play with. The Gillespie children adored her and Trent will take her to work with him and give her lots of attention along with the proper training and discipline.

It was so amazing how 6 adults could get so involved in the life of a little puppy that no one apparently seemed to want at the start of her little life and dumped her. We all worked to provide a good start for the little princess and she did not suffer any self esteem problems with being abandoned by her original home, we all made sure of that! She will always be in our hearts but
now she has lots of people who love her and will make sure she is always loved.

Here she is the next day after she was dumped playing in the yard at Mock's.

Who could do that to such a cute puppy?

Train Wrecks Cowboy wanted her and voiced it from the 1st post I did on her. At first I thought they were just kidding, but they were not , they were serious as a TrainWreck! I just knew in my heart they were going to be the best family for her, she would be in the country and have lots of love.
Bill thought I was nuts finding her a home in Arizona, but we all prevailed and it happened!
The Mocks are true champions of the little animals who need a home.
Mocks spend more time and money helping out abandoned animals that any 2 people I know. When you live in the county like they do you are a dumping ground for people who don't have a conscience. This is odd because this is the first puppy they have found. Usually it is cats and kittens that wind up at their house.
I feel truly blessed to have been a part of helping the
innocent little Gillie find a home, and double blessed there wonderful people
like the Gillespie's in the world.

We believe an angel sat on this little girl so we would meet Train Wreck and her Cowboy, because without Gillie we would still be strangers.
We felt a bond and a friendship the minute the knock came on the door of our motel room.
and Gillie took to them like a duck on water.

LOVE YOU GUYS!

you will never
know how much it meant to all four of us that you will love Gillie
like we do.

We are proud to call you our friends
P.S. we expect to see her on holidays! :)
